FARGO – The first of three coins to be hidden at the Fargo Downtown Street Fair was found today by West Fargo resident Gail Flom.

Flom has never participated in The Forum’s annual treasure hunt.
But when she read Thursday’s first online clue, “A passport you will not need; instead, follow our clues to succeed” from her work upstairs at the federal building downtown, she had a hunch she was close.

So Flom found a copy of Thursday’s Forum to find the printed clue and headed outside.

“It’s really exciting, I can’t believe I got it right away,” Flom said.

She looked at the green sign reading “Klai Hall” on the east side of Klai Hall at 711 2nd Ave. N. and walked toward a nearby church that seemed to have some relationship with printed clue.

Flom said even though she had walked by the “Klai Hall” sign, something made her turn around and sweep the bottom of it.

There she found the first of three Northern Plains Coins to be hidden this week, during the annual Street Fair.

The coin is worth $500 in gold from Northern Plains Coin. Another coin will be hidden at the Street Fair for today’s hunt.

Flom said that just before finding the coin, she was forced to buy new tires for her car, so the $500 prize comes just in time.

The West Fargo resident said she plans to also donate a part of her winnings to Sunshine Kids at Prudential.

The first clue for the Friday’s treasure hunt will appear in the print edition of Friday’s Forum.
